Chronic hip pain can interfere with every aspect of your life. If you are unable to do your normal activities because of painful arthritis or repeated injuries, a total hip replacement could be the solution. Our expert orthopedic teams at Cartersville Medical Center can help you get back to the life you love.

How Hip Replacement Works

In total hip replacement, your orthopedic surgeon will remove the damaged bone and cartilage and replace it with artificial parts. The new ball and socket joint will work just like your natural joints, but it is made of strong materials like metal, ceramic and polyethylene. The artificial joint may be cemented in position or held securely in the bone without cement.

After this inpatient procedure, recovery takes about three to five days in the hospital when you’ll receive complete support and planning for your rehabilitation. At Cartersville Medical Center, we will help you create a rehabilitation plan so you can get back to your normal routine. Most of our patients are walking independently without joint pain after two months.
