Computed Tomography (CT)
CT technology is evolving to allow for clearer, faster scans which can reduce scan times by as much as 85 percent compared with previous technology. Not only will patients receive quicker diagnosis, but they will also avoid more invasive testing due to the efficiency of the latest spiral CT scanner technology. This newer equipment has the capability of offering many types of scans that were previously unavailable. Cartersville Medical Center’s Imaging Services Department offers Cardiac Imaging in the forms of Coronary CT Angiography and Heart View Calcium scoring. These examinations are important tools in the screening and diagnosis of heart disease in a non-invasive exam.
