Reducing Your Risk of Hyperthyroidism

There is no way to prevent hyperthyroidism in the case of Graves' disease and most other causes.

Taking too much thyroid hormone replacement can also result in hyperthyroidism, follow your treatment plan and get blood tests done regularly. In some cases, excess iodine intake, such as kelp supplements, may cause hyperthyroidism.
