Ten Minutes Could Save Your Life

Local physicians will provide free oral, head and neck cancer screenings on Friday, May 20 from 1 until 4:30 p.m. at The Hope Center at Cartersville Medical Center. Oral, head and neck cancers claim approximately 12,000 lives per year. If diagnosed early, these cancers can be more easily treated without significant complications, and the chances of survival greatly increase.

Cartersville Medical Center Releases Update Regarding Battery Recycling Facility Explosion

As of 7 p.m., no victims from this afternoon’s explosion at Metal Conversions Technology have been received at Cartersville Medical Center. Eight area residents fearing exposure were triaged and decontaminated. Seven of the patients were released from the emergency department while one remains for observation.

But Thursday, April 21 will be anything but typical. That evening is dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer and to honor breast cancer survivors. Cartersville Medical Center Places on Quality Honor Roll

Cartersville Medical Center in Cartersville has been named to the Georgia Hospital Association’s (GHA) Partnership for Health and Accountability (PHA) Quality Honor Roll. Cartersville Medical Center is one of 22 hospitals in Georgia to be placed in the Chairman’s category, the highest on the list. The honor roll is based on clinical data provided by the federal Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS), which administers the nation’s Medicare and Medicaid programs. The data was collected from October 2009 to September 2010.

Sims Promoted to Market Director for Northwest Georgia Hospital Facilities

Cartersville Medical Center announced recently that Shannon Sims has been promoted to Market Director of Pharmacy to include Cartersville Medical Center, Redmond Regional Medical Center and Polk Medical Center. In her new role, Sims will be responsible for pharmacy operations at all three of the HCA healthcare facilities located in Northwest Georgia.
