Cartersville, GA; December 27, 2011: On Friday, December 16, Cartersville Medical Center’s Employee Advisory Group hosted a special Christmas party for children at the local Boys and Girls Club complete with food, activities, gifts and, of course, Santa!
Planned since last Fall, the party followed a series of events sponsored by the Medical Center benefitting the local club, including a donation in September of snacks, games, school supplies and a ping pong table, and a Halloween party in October.
More than 90 children were provided Christmas dinner (prepared by the Medical Center’s Food and Nutrition Services department). Hospital employees volunteered their time to paint faces, man a stocking decoration station and wrap, transport and distribute gifts.
Through generous monetary contributions by the medical staff at Cartersville Medical Center, the club’s wish list was fulfilled, including games, an Xbox, a volleyball net and individual gifts for every single child. Additionally, the CMC Auxiliary Gift Shop provided gifts and toys for the event. Each child had the opportunity to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, where they also received their special gift.
Finally, a wonderful gift of five computers and five printers — which will be set up at the club’s computer lab in January — was donated by Phoenix Air.
